I know what you mean. You may find your passion toward another person but he or she may not echo back in an expected way. It happens everyday and everywhere. The probability of success in single encounter is extremely low. That's why we keep looking everyday and trying for a very long period. Hopefully, given a large number of attempts, the statistical result may be improved. I guess this movie idealized the process and asserted a happy result for entertainment purpose. It's my understanding that the whole purpose of such happy ending is to restore our confidence in this mutual selection process. Definitely, we need it.
